The types of exchanges students can take part in and the issues they raise are varied. In all cases, they require a preliminary agreement between the student, the receiving institution and the sending institution. The main criterion for acceptance is the coherence of the individual’s education plan.
Eligible students
ENSNP students wishing to study at another school for a semester
Students from other schools wishing to study at ENSNP for a fixed period
of time.
Eligible schools
1 - Schools having signed an exchange agreement with ENSNP
The pedagogical rules applying for the period of the exchange are specified
in the agreement. To date, those programs are:
Université de Montréal, Faculté d’aménagement,
Ecole d’Architecture de Paysage
Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, Architecture Department.
Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand, Landscape Architecture Department.
2 - European schools belonging to the ERASMUS exchange network
ENSNP was awarded the Erasmus Chart in 2006. This has allowed for the development of bilateral agreements with other schools within a well-defined framework (learning agrements, grade transcripts records and ECTS equivalents) as well as the recognition of study periods abroad. The schools we have signed bilateral agreements with are :
Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, landscape architecture department.
Slovak University of Agriculture, Nitra , landscape architecture department.
Dublin University College, landscape architecture department.
Istanbul Technical University, landscape architecture department.
Yeditepe University, Istanbul, landscape architecture department.
In order to facilitate the conditions under which students can participate
in short-term exchange programs, ENSNP has secured SOCRATES/ERASMUS
membership. It facilitates bilateral agreements by offering
a common framework for exchanges (application packages, education
agreement, grade transcripts, ECTS brochure) and by granting
academic validation for studies done abroad.
3 - Other schools
For schools not belonging to either network, individual applications
will be examined separately and a learning agreement will be signed
by the parties involved to define criteria for the validation of
the courses attended.
Eligible years in the curriculum
Exchange students can study at ENSNP for one or two semesters, but
only in the third or fourth year.
Third and fourth-year ENSNP students
can apply for only one semester at another school. For that year,
the validation of courses and promotion to the next level will be
granted on the basis of the distinct results of the two semesters
instead of the whole year as usual.
ECTS (European credit transfer system)
Detailed tables for the second, the third and fourth
year include the yearly
workload and corresponding ECTS for each course. They can be downloaded
by clicking on the link. For a description of course contents,
please refer to the "programme" section under "curriculum".
Language of instruction
All courses are taught in French. Exchange students are therefore
expected to have a sufficient command of that language to be able
to understand lectures, make oral presentations, take notes and write
reports.
Registration procedure for prospective exchange students
Prospective exchange students should get in touch early on with
the institutional and the departmental exchange coordinators at both
schools; it is of utmost importance that applicants prepare their
education plan carefully and program it in agreement with their advisor
to make sure that it fits academic regulations and their own needs.
The application package (application form, learning agreement, transcript
of records) will be sent upon request, together with more general,
practical information concerning the host country and the school.
